Multi-resolution games: letterboxes and scaling

I've recorded Bubba 'n' Stix for CD32. The game uses different (doubled original) resolution for intro / title screens (640x512) and levels (608x416). Cropping the video for 2min of intro / title screens leaves nasty letterboxes for rest of the game. Checking if other options are possible, maybe recording the intro in single line mode and letterboxing or scaling that instead to sync with in game resolution?

An option could be to encode it twice.

One for Archive.org using original mixed resolutions with borders, and one for youtube that you have prettied up. Maybe 4x res for gameplay and upscale the intro to match so that no details are taken away (single line mode). Often in these caes I will up both to archive anyway to give viewer the option of which to view. Sometime I will aspect correct a video for youtube if it just looks really wrong in its native res and offer both for download.

Thx for the quick answer, that's what I'll do then :)
