Player's Review

"Join Hello Kitty and her super-cute friends as they race together over land, sea and sky!"

Another less than great Karting game but it's aimed at the younger player so it's passable I guess. That's not to say it's easy as the opponent karts will put up a fight to the finish line. The gameplay is quite basic with just the one speed setting and no difficulty options as well as no apparent sliding mechanic. You do get weapons they don't do a whole lot.

The game has two modes of play. There are four tournaments to race through with no real award for completing them. Winning each race will unlock a character, vehicle, outfit or paint though. Unlocking everything would require many playthrough though as each character has two paints and each vehicle has two additional variants to get.

The second mode, Adventure mode has five sets of races. you need to complete each one to unlock the next but there are no unlockable rewards for completing them. I cant see any point to the stars awarded. The mode is essentially just a collection of mini games requiring collecting stuff around the tracks with a time limit. Ultimately pointless.

For the longplay, I go through each tournament before showing adventure mode. At this point everything is shown and its just a matter of spending hours re-racing to unlock everything. I do just show an additional full tournament to unlock all characters I show one last single race with the final character and draw the line at this point. There are no apparent credits to show, that's how proud the developers are of this game. Also, there is more than a passing resemblance to the Garfield racing game even though that's by a different developer.
