This game picks up right after the events of the TV series. Inquisitive Smurf brings Smurfette along to Papa Smurf's laboratory to see the Magic Crystal that allows them to travel to anywhere in the world, but suddenly Smurfette breaks it, and they are gone! Now they must face the challenges in all continents in order to retrieve all shards of the Crystal and return home.
The Smurfs 2 (Fr. "Les Schtroumpfs Autour du Monde", The Smurfs Travel the World) is a platform game based on the popular eponymous animated series, developed by Virtual Studio and released by Infogrames in 1996 for the SNES, Mega Drive, Game Boy, Game Gear, and Master System.
The goal in most levels is to find and collect crystals. There are also keys that can be collected to unlock bonus levels.
The SNES and Mega Drive versions have slight differences in level layout, enemy placement, item placement and enemy behaviour. The Master System and the portable versions have slight differences in enemy placement and level layout as well.
Played on Hard difficulty. I visited a bonus level in each continent and tried to find all keys.
