Player's Review
STG by Cave. Said to be one of the hardest shmups, as well as Cave's hardest shmup (it usually competes with DOJ White)
Something about a World War III, sides at a stalemate, and a company profiting by providing resources...or something. Then a mission was given: use the company's stolen planes and go on a suicide mission to destroy the company from the inside...or something. STG...no plot.
Bullet hell. Scoring mechanic is kinda simple: point-blank enemies with shot to get a multiplier chip, use Lockshot to score points during multiplier while dropping active multiplier chips. Rinse and repeat. There's also 2 different loops: Tsuujou, which demands decent play: combined total of bombs and lives use be less than 6, and Ura, which demands dropping no bombs or blowing up, all while getting 120 Million at the end of Loop 1.
This longplay no-skills all the way through first and Ura loop while scoring really really BAD with Panzer Jager! (barely got into Ura. Was freaking out at 119M, thinking end-of-stage bonus wouldn't apply.) I TRIED to play Ura loop safely, but suicide bullets said otherwise. There will be lots of blowing up in Ura loop and bombs dropped, all because I don't know enemy formations and horrible at bullet herding. There be questionable times where I don't get blown up.
Emulator had problems playing some tracks: namely stage clear, Stage 4, and TLB. Shame, because Stage 4 track is pretty awesome, even if the stage is fucking hard.
This longplay shouldn't exist.
