Player's Review

"• Over 110 minutes of interactive movie action at four camera locations, so you never play the same game twice.
• Includes incredible special effects and a large cast whose lead characters interact directly with player throughout the game.
• Directed by Dwight H. Little, known for the hit movies Marked for Death, Halloween 4 and Rapid Fire.
The chopper kicks up dust as it sets down. Through the haze of dirt and grit you make out El Cadron, a shabby, little Texas border town. It looks quiet enough. But folks have been disappearing. And as a tactical expert, you soon discover it's crawling with aliens disguised as humans. Welcome to Ground Zero Texas. Armed with four BattleCams outfitted with a particle beam that stuns the aliens (you can't kill them with traditional guns) and a RoverCam used to search out the Reticulan weapon stash, you're into a sci-fi, wild west gun fest. Once the aliens know you've discovered their arsenal, it's all-out war and they come at you like robot stormtroopers. Lucky for you, every time you score a direct hit, their green goopy guts go flying!"

This is probably the best of all the digital pictures releases with it's movie like atmosphere and by this point, were getting the highest quality we are going to get from SegaCD FMV and its not bad really. It's not without issues though especially playing on joypad. It is a shooting gallery style game and one of the main issues is that your gun sight doesnt always line up with the hitboxes even though it looks like it very much should. The levels go on for a while and can quickly end the game as it is seemingly random if your guns will get repaired or receiving a game over. level three in particular can go on way too long.

The gameplay is simple enough although challenging as you have little to time to react to what is going on. You have four guns which you can jump between at any time. Each gun has a shield which you should activate to protect the gun when you are not using it. Enemies can still fire at them and will eventually where them down destroying the shield. The ide in the first level is to find the code keys. These are usually found when an agent is under attack and you save them. Because these events are seemingly random, you might find your guns detecting activity at multiple locations. You can jump between locations even when under fire and it is a good idea to check other areas when prompted in case it is an action scene as these are more important than the shooting scenes but don't forget about them, go back as soon as you can. As you progress and come under ever more fire, your weapons will get damaged and this is shown through the visuals getting worse making it difficult to aim. If the game goes your way, an agent will repair the weapon if they are still alive.

Overall, its a good but overly drawn out game. It can be a little annoying that events can be going on in other areas while you are clearing another much like Night trap or Double Switch. The game plays out slightly differently each time you play so you may see new scenes each time. If you get to the nuke without all the code keys, you do get a chance to guess the code. There are numerous ways to fail in the game and I have tried to capture the resulting videos but due to the randomness, I may not have them all. There is a continue system as well as starting on a level reached.
