Player's Review

Take the captains chair as Tully Bodine, veteran skipper of the vintage Loadstar as he accepts a dangerous assignment: Get a cargo of contraband camels off the Moon. You have to move fast and think faster as you dodge rival truckers, traffic accidents, slowpokes and avoid police SAPs and Toasters in hot pursuit. While youre at it, dont get caught by Sheriff Wompler or youll be spending some time on ice. Loadstar features stunning graphics and special effects, full motion, full screen video and CD-quality soundtrack. Rocket Scientist Ron Cobbs original story stars Ned Beatty and Barry Primus in the first episode in the epic story of Tully Bodine.

Sega-CD version of this game is missing the final level of the PC Dos version. The game is quite tough anyway so thankfully its over when it is. The joypad controls make it quite a difficult game as the enemies appear and disappear so quick.

Its taken me quite a few plays to get the game figured out (Manual not so helpful).
A Button presses the Horn which is only usefull on level1 to dodge oncomming traffic. B Set sight to absorb enemy shots with your shield. C Sets sight to shoot the enemy down.
All the while you need to press left/Right to choose track direction while making sure your on correct heading. The game doesnt tell you the heading, you have to notice the building it tells you to go to and note the heading yourself and try to stick to it.

To get through level 1, its best not to shoot the police ships that appear at top left/right. They will not fire upon you then until half way into the level. Also, don't shoot down any friendly transports as the police get mad and the clumsy robots start shooting as well, twice as fast as normal!.

Levels 2 and 3, its easier to just shoot down the projectiles coming at you. shooting the ships is just for score and that's not so important really Wink

The green shield comes on a lot. pressing B and C at the same time activates it or X on a 6 button pad. with frantically shooting the different targets I often accidently activate the shield. I find it best to use the shield when a corner is approaching and you want to make sure you get round it without worrying about enemy fire.

On level 3, you explode some fuel to clear the screen for a few seconds. don't use them all though as you wont have enough to take off.

I added a few extra bonus clips at the end of the video.
