Ys II: Ancient Ys Vanished - The Final Chapter

Plot: 'Ys II picks up immediately where Ys I left off. Adol Christin is transported to the floating island of Ys, where he meets a young woman named Lilia. She takes Adol to her home, Lance Village. It is here that he will begin his quest to unravel the secrets of Ys, and finally, rid it and Esteria of evil.'

Same gameplay mechanics though: bumping or running through enemies/bosses to kill them, even the HUD for the player's stats is recycled from the first game. However, it adds the ability to use magic power, which means Adol can do ranged attacks, pose as a Demon or even returning to an already-visited place to avoid backtracking. Like its predecessor, the NES port was never released outside of Japan but, it's playable thanks to a fan translation.
