Player's Review
This game in specific is one of those titles that mandatorily require the Power Pad, which is a mat with 'buttons' that are pressed with your feet. This peripheral was later remade in 2008 for the Active Life series on the Wii.
It consists of five challenges where your flexibility, concentration, agility, reflexes and endurance are tested, training and beginner stages are pretty much the same in terms of difficulty but the real challenge comes when going through infinite loops on Expert mode. Doing 10 loops warrants a 1st Degree score, which is what I did, despite the difficulty curve no longer going up after the fifth round.
I did this longplay with emulated Power Pad on BizHawk's NES core which was somewhat hard to master, though for some weird reason you have to use Power Pad B scheme since there is no way to use the other side as the game suggests. Basically you use 4 to go down, 5 and 6 together to sprint, 7 to go up and 1+4/2+5/3+6 to crouch (got this info from GameFAQs), again it's a lot easier when A side of the mat is used.
00:00 - Start
00:21 - Hurdles (Training)
00:56 - Animal Trail (Training)
01:34 - Dark Tunnel (Training)
02:13 - Hop a Log (Training)
02:52 - Rafting (Training)
03:46 - Beginner Mode
07:39 - Expert Mode (10 loops)
52:53 - Game Over
