Player's Review

Third and final in the TopGear series on the Super Nintendo. The Game continues right where TopGear2 left off. From deep space, aliens took notice of winning the championship and offered a proposal. Complete the Ultimate championship of the Galaxy and find the secrets to 'Life, The Universe and everything'.

The game needs to be played on Hard in order to fully complete the game. Its doesnt take long before it starts to feel grindy as the AI seems too easy and the tracks are unimaginative (just constant turns to throw you off the track).

They game is quite forgiving with its collision detection, many time I thaught it should have registered a hit. I guess it was made this way due to the Hyper speed gameplay they were going for. Which makes me wonder why they didnt use the usual mode 7 for high speed racing instead of trying to invent another engine for the snes. The main car looks very bland, no real effor put into its artwork. I have to say the effects used for fog are absolutly awful. The camera is also to low which doesnt help draw distance so you dont always see the corners comming....especially if you blink!. The music is ok, but nothing memorable.

The game is enjoyable for the most part, but like previous Top gear games, it just goes on for too long. The last track is the hardest by far with 2nd place car never more then a second behind. I did start out playing split scree mode with a cpu player, but fps was too choppy to concentrate with track going at hyper speed.

Unfortunatly, the mystery regarding Secret Bonus 'B' is still..a mystery. I tried lots of diferent things to try and trigger it, but its not happening.
