Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles
|
Player's Review
This entry in the series, despite being released a year after the first game, is actually set before that one. Two years later, ports for iOS, Symbian and Windows Phone were released, featuring a revamped HUD and also polished graphics/gameplay in general.
In this game, Altair has to go through Jerusalem, Damasco, Tyre and a few other places in search for the Chalice, which later on turns out it's 'someone' and not 'something'.
The player can collect blue orbs which are used to upgrade Altair's health and blade attack, though near the end guards also receive a bump in health as well, resulting in them taking lots of hits to die in some cases, not to mention sometimes the fast KO moves either don't work at all or just take away part of their health. This is normal behaviour when fighting bosses though. There is also the ability to use a crossbow and also bombs to either open up new paths or run away from guards.
Upon completion for the first time on Normal difficulty, you get the chance to replay the whole game on Hard difficulty and also adds the option to choose an individual mission to replay. Completing the game again on Hard rewards you with absolutely nothing, can confirm this because I played through this game many times on an old iOS device back when it was still available to purchase from the App Store (it was delisted in 2013, plus that it won't run on newer devices).
