NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams

Sequel to the original NiGHTS game on Saturn (and re-released as a remaster for PS2 in Japan only and then for X360/PS3 internationally). This one was originally going to be made for X360 exclusively, until the people at Sonic Team decided to make it Wii exclusive for some unknown reason.

The story follows two children, William Taylor and Helen Cartwright, who enter a dream world called Nightopia. When their nightmares come to life, they enlist the help of NiGHTS, an exiled "Nightmaren", as they journey through Nightopia to stop the evil ruler Wizeman from escaping into the real world.

You choose between Will and Helen, each one has their own plot and levels, just like with Elliot and Claris in the original game. Sega expanded the original game's formula as well, by adding four extra missions for each level except for Bellbridge, which is pretty much like Twin Seeds in the prequel, though with slight differences depending on the kid you chose. These missions are very unique on their own, even you can find platforming missions especially in Helen's worlds. Like in the original, in order to get the extended endings you have to complete the final level at least once, only that this time the condition also requires you to do this with both kids. Unlike in the prequel, the idea of adding seasonal stages was scrapped during development, which means no holiday variations of the stages exist in this game.

The game also features a subquest which involves hidden Dreamdrops. Completing this unlocks Elliot and Claris skins from the prequel for the kids, and yes, these are cosmetic skins since in the cutscenes you still see either Will or Helen no matter if you're using the unlocked skin or not. There are 60 in total, during the entire quest I manage to show the locations of 52 of them, which do not require revisit after unlocking any of the transformations for NiGHTS. At the end I show many extras such as NG+ exclusive cutscenes, a small showcase of the skins mentioned above, a populated 'My Dream' area and the sketchbook, which is an album of concept art made for the game.
