Player's Review

Some people probably might think this is a direct port of the PSP game, but it isn't exactly like that due to many reasons. Aside from controls that were adapted to match the Nunchuk control scheme, there are other many differences mainly in terms of level design and even their length, a prime example of this is the first stage, where they even added a small cutscene at the beginning which isn't present in the original PSP version. This design change also affected the placement of all weapon parts, these are located at different places compared to the original. Another notable difference is that Eidos decided to tweak the special move acquirement system, where you no longer have to buy them with yellow orbs in order to use them, but they are rather automatically activated for you after reaching a certain amount of orbs for each.

As for the plot, Death Jr along with his classmate Pandora have to find out what happened to DJ's father who has disappeared mysteriously, during their mission the are also looking for something they need for their Biology project (DJ mentions something about him being grounded for being a bad student so he depends on that project to get a good grade), though this latter thing is less relevant plot wise.

When you start the game, you can choose between Death Jr and Pandora, the only difference that is dependent on this choice is weapons and nothing else, even weapon parts placement and also plot is the same for both (maybe except for stages 6 and 11 where places for their weapon parts are swapped, in other words, the places where you find a weapon part for DJ in stage 6 are the same for Pandora's stage 11 and vice versa).

The game also features the ability to use ranged weapons. You start off with the pistol, and you either get new weapons or upgrade the existing ones by finding weapon parts. Depending on the circumstance, some weapons can be very effective, especially if you are surrounded by a large horde of enemies. Rocket launchers and any other thing that is explosive can be useful against mini-bosses or actual bosses.

Upon completion of the whole game for the first time, you unlock every single FMV of the main game and the so-called 'sketchbooks' which are sketched stills of each FMV. The latter is shown at the end of the video as part of the Extras section of this longplay, as well as a weapon gallery showcase for each character, a replay of the first two stages as Pandora with the purpose of showcasing her weapons in action, and the very few instances at the beginning of some stages where you get minor dialogue differences when playing as her.
