Rayman Origins

Player's Review
After two canonical entries in the series where full exploration in 3D was the core aspect, this game represented the return to the series' own roots, where it feels like playing the original game, with the difference that this time you are not required to save all Electoons to complete the game. However, a new collectible was introduced (Skull Tooth) and picking up all of them in the so-called 'Treasure Challenge' stages unlocks a secret yet short world with a boss at the end which can be considered the final boss due to its difficulty.
This was one of the games I was really eager to try out, not only because of its popularity, but also due to the mechanics I mentioned above, and I say this as someone who've also played the original game as well. In the early worlds you acquire a special move from a fairy after rescuing her, pretty much like in the original game. Then after completing these worlds, another set has to be tackled without worrying about the order, though in this video I decided to go all in order for consistency. For those wondering, getting all Lum Medals has no impact on your progress, but I wanted to look it as neat as possible so I thought, 'why not doing that?', as well as the cups from the time trials, except for a couple or so that I couldn't get as they seem to require a later powerup or something but these do not reward you with anything if all cups are gotten (they tweaked the time limits in the 3DS and Vita versions by the way), though at least I went through every single time trial for the sixth Electoon, this in order to get all 246 Electoons in the game. Rescuing Electoons unlock more characters to play as a reward, all of them sharing the same moves and abilities, I did a small showcase of them right before entering the secret world.
As for the secret world: not gonna lie, it's a real challenge, same can be said for the boss at the end of it, but having it included in its entirety gave me some grade of satisfaction. Your reward for that is an alternate version of the credits where Rayman is now able to break all letters (in case you are bored and feel like doing that) but other than that it is literally the same credits roll otherwise.
Yes, this isn't the better looking PS3/X360/PC version, but it'll be covered in the future, that is for sure. Speaking of versions, I should mention the developers cut corners here, not only they downgraded the graphics to 480p standards, but also replaced a few of the prerendered cutscenes with FMVs, especially the intro, also that there is only one variant of the Lum King fanfare compared to the bigger versions where there are four. At least they didn't cut out the Get Away portion of the main final stage, which was removed from the 3DS version due to tighter hardware limitations.
