Player's Review

Third discworld game in the series. The playstation version is being played here as it was easier to record although not without its problems. This port was released only in Europe most likely due to the game failing quality control over at scea as there are more than a few problems with this release. The game support a mouse, but a Joypad is being used here so the pointer will fly around sometimes, depending how fast the game is working at that point.

This port is of notably lower quality than the pc original and often runs very slow and after a while is prone to crashing with an 'out of memory error' (bsod on a ps1!) Voices often get cut off (thats not me pressing anything to skip) and sometimes subs get stuck needing a button press from me to continue. Some music is missing and some animations completely broken. But we are here for the story right? so we can look past and look past all its failings cant we? ....

I don't really enjoy this game and find it the worst of the three. Its a too big of a departure from the previous 2 excellent games for me. Everything that made the those games good is missing here. This game is a detective game where you ask questions, find clues and ask more questions with just a few collectables to use along the way, quite a departure from the normal point and click style. The game is very dark throughout and can be hard to see a lot of fine details needed to find collectables. The voice acting is terrible and often monotonous as their is sooooo much dialogue it often seems to drag on. If you listen to audio books you will be very familiar with how this sounds. It makes the game feel way to long for my liking. This is also partly due to me trying to show all dialogue trees without repeating anything heard already.

Since each as last quite along time , especially act2, i have split each act into an individual part instead of usual 1 large file. Thankfully due to all the static screens, the game compresses really well.
