Player's Review

in Tigershark, you take control of a submarine and either shutdown or destroy the enemies geothermal generators while defending against the huge forces of evil that don't want you to do that.

I almost gave up on this game due to its brutal difficulty level. You have to at least play on the default hard difficulty to beat the game. If you lower the difficulty it wont let you go after the enemies base. On the hard difficulty the enemy hits hard, there torpedoes home in one you and they constantly swap around you when trying to go after the main targets. If that wasn't difficult enough, any hits you take also knock your sub about and together with over sensitive controls makes the game damned annoying and hard to aim accurately as well as needing to lead your shots. The ideal strategy is to sit just out of range and use your sonar to detect them, but in most cases, if you can see them, they can see you.

The game tries to encourage you to look around and kill smaller targets to ease your progression to the main targets. Destroying radar and sonar towers should lower enemies ability to see you and have them fire slower at you, but at each of these smaller building are more enemy spawns waiting for you so its not always the best way to progress. Armour pickups are very few and far between especially on levels that have you constantly under fire.

The end of the game makes it look like they may be a sequel some day. At the very end of the video I show the losing fmv and also the trailer for the Bug Riders game. If there is anything good to say about the game, I think it would be the music as its rather good and seems to fit the game. A golden age before all games contained licenced tracks.
