Player's Review

From wiki:-
"Silverload is the title of a graphic adventure video game developed by Millennium Interactive and published by Psygnosis in Europe and Vic Tokai in North America. The game was released in 1996. The player controls, via a first person perspective, a Wild West cowboy as he ventures into a haunted town in order to save a child that was taken from his parents. The U.S. based Entertainment Software Rating Board gave the game a "M" rating for its graphic violence, blood and gore, and bits of profanity. The game was released for the personal computer in Europe, and the original PlayStation edition was given an international release."

The game was released first on the PC in 1995 but was not well received due to bad design with both its puzzles and user interface. The game was redesigned for the Playstation version making it a much more enjoyable game with improves sounds and graphics. The user interface still sucks however as you try to find the hotspots and also navigate the dialogue options.

The game is quite short and can be completed quicker than shown in this video by performing different actions. However, you do need to solve the game 100% if you want to see the full ending, even though it does only last a few seconds.... Some notable decisions that effect the percentage include deciding if you want to stay in the hotel room or sleep in the stable to save a buck. You can actually sleep in the stable for free. You will want to stay in the hotel room and discover its secrets if you want 100%. A decision that caught me out and I needed to replay the game was whether to fight Kain or not. You must kill Kain and not dodge the fire fight if you are going for 100%. Getting the picture from the undertaker completes the day cycle. You must visit Shiela before this point else she wont be there. Lastly, at the end of the game you can dress up in ceremonial robes to face off against the preacher. Doing this will not get you to 100% though as you need to destroy his shrine room.

In the game you will pick up lots of useless items, some which you can pay for including the very expensive gun. You do have enough money at the start of the game to buy all needed items. However, if you overspend by buying the gun (which is not needed at all) and maybe too many drinks at the bar or healing meds, you will need to play against the gambler at the casino to get more money. I am not sure if this sequence is needed for 100% or not.

While I never played the PC original, the PS1 version is nice short fun point and click adventure with good visuals and reasonable plot/story. I have tried to show all dialogue options and look at various points of interest but i may have still missed some. At the end of the video I have added some death scenes and again may have missed a few along the way.
