Player's Review

"The feeling of floating in space and the exhilaration of annihilating enemies with missiles. At the edge of a faraway galaxy, time passes peacefully in the Junos star system. However, the terrifying military nation known as the Fourth Reich is trying to reach out to this peaceful world. The state-of-the-art fighter jet "TRY-Z'' takes off towards Junos. What is "Galaxy Force II"? The pinnacle of Sega's experience games ("Outrun", "After Burner", etc.) that appeared in arcades in 1988. It was a super deluxe game that could move 335 degrees left and right and 15 degrees up and down, making it feel like you were flying in space. A revived shock. And new excitement. We have finally achieved a faithful port to home game consoles, which was previously impossible due to the overwhelming amount of image information. The shock I felt then is vividly coming back to me now. What's more, while maintaining the gameplay, the "PlayStation 2'' original mode features greatly enhanced graphics, including "16:9 wide screen support'', "improved three dimensional expression through translucent processing'', and "progressive output support''. mounted. Refined graphics create new excitement."

This is a collection of Galaxy Force games including the Arcade original as well as Genesis and Master System versions. The main game is the Arcade NEO PlayStation 2 edition which an upscaled arcade game with filtering and presented in widescreen.

Not much else to say, Its Galaxy Force II with no real extras other than scans of the game manuals. The game features 6 stages. In order to make it through you need to get through the stage as fast as possible while shooting as much as possible. This boosts your score and awards energy at the end of each stage. The energy is used up at a fixed rate so to keep it high, you should maintain full speed at all times only slowing down for tight tunnel sections. The shield can only take so many hits and once its gone, any hits will start depleting energy and slow you down. Galaxy force on the master system has a different mechanic (not enough buttons to control sped) and energy isn't used. Instead your points are used to boost the shield going into each stage. If the shield depletes, one more hit and your gone.

Overall a nice collection for the Galaxy Force fan and although each game is short, they still offer a significant challenge and if it's not enough, you can mess with each games difficulty options.
