Player's Review

"Hardcore Pinball is a real diehard enthusiast's game. Four challenging tables, featuring realistic physics, are the heart of this outstanding simulation. Experience exciting themes of Soccer, RoboMech, Retro, and Station. The superbly animated flippers, bumpers, rails, kickers, spinners, and silver ball will quickly give the illusion of being in the arcade again. With outstanding music and sound effects, you'll want to find the token machine so you never have to quit playing."

The game is a top down pinball simulation much like Pinball Dreams/Fantasies that came before and this is not by accident as the game was originaly meant to be a port of Dreams to the gba but due to the licence running out the game engine was repurposed as an original pinball game. It contains four tables each with there own objectives and annoyances. There is not a lot going on with only one or two main objectives to work towards. Whilst the game is fairly well done the ball physics can make the game a chore and is more similar to Spidersoft than Digital Illusions.

Keeping the ball in play is not overly difficult as the ball rarely goes for the side drains. You also have some control over the ball trajectory by nudging the table but you only get four or five nudges per ball before tilting. I tend to use it when the ball looks like it going to be shot out of a lock right down the centre or if the ball needs a little help at the peak of a ramp.

Station. This is a pretty boring table with its pastel look and meh music. Objectives are fairly easy to hit though so it wont take to long to complete this table.

Robotech: This table looks a little empty and the overly bright table can make it difficult to keep track of whats going on. Collecting the body parts and powering up is the main chore of this table and the bonus multiplier button can be hard to hit. A big issue with this table is the small flippers and the ball has a tendency to belt down at warp speed as rolls near the end.

Soccer: Another easy table. pretty much keep going round the ramps with the most difficult part hitting the centre ball lock. The penalty shot has a high chance of going down the middle so a slight nudge before the ball launches can help here. A quite like the look of the table and upbeat music.

Retro: This has a nice look to it but its primary objective is a major chore and difficult to reach with the buffers in the way. Traveling across the state requires ever more power shots on the left inside ramp and take forever to reach the max. However once there, you get to enable the five million mega bonus on each go round so that's something.

The longplay tries to show completing each of the main objectives on each table. Doing so can take a long time as the ball just wont go where you want it. Usually completing an objective will allow for hitting bumpers with a high reward for 30 seconds which on some table isn't nearly enough as the bumpers can be hard to reach. I close the video by chowing the credits.
