"Fly into the madness in your experimental G-LOC superfighter, and put an end to the Future World Army!"

The Game Gear release is another variant of the game that differs from the arcade, other home ports and even the master system version. Its well presented with a mission select screen and includes options to level up your fighter by spending points earned during the game. It also the easiest version I have played (not to say it's an easy game) as you can just spray bullet fire killing most incoming enemy whilst saving the missiles for the bigger targets (dont waste em on oncoming planes).

Taking damage is shown through fuel loss so it is a good idea to buy the armour and fuel tank upgrades early to stay alive longer. While incoming missiles hurt, enemy planes attacking from behind can hurt more although its not to difficult to avoid as if you stay moving in the opposite direction they are coming from, the will overtake and susceptible to being shot down. When attacked by multiple enemies from behind, do the barrel roll to get behind them and take em down. The game does get crazy in the final mission though as it throws everything at you at once.

Overall, its nice version of the game for the handheld
