Player's Review

"Metropolis. A city-state dependent on robot run industry. A city under siege. At Electrocorp, the largest manufacturer of military and industrial robots, an infectious Ego-Virus has corrupted the robot workers behavioural programming. There is but one way to end the mechanical mutiny. You must battle five robot fighters of unparalleled strength and skill before squaring off against the ultimate challenger: The Supervisor. Her speed and accuracy are lethal. Her ultra-evil, melting morphing ability is deadly. Prepare for a powerful showdown that pits man against machine."

This conversion appears to have been made just to say they made a rise of the robots game for the handheld. It plays like the other versions on hard difficulty mode. However this version is much faster then any other and you can be quickly wiped out. The controls can be annoying as it is possible to get locked into one move if hitting the punch/kick buttons fast. Holding punch or kick will charge your hit strength as well as unleashing a special move if holding back or up.

Amazingly we have animated cut scenes in the game, Maybe more then in the Genesis version. I don't like the backgrounds. I'm sure more effort could have gone into this aspect of the game. The Brian May soundtrack is notably absent from this version of the game. Also notable is that you only fight each robot once in the lead up to the supervisor.

In this new recording I show the good ending. I'm not 100% sure but I believe this is achieved by leaving the game at the default best of five bouts so you can knock out the ego virus before finally destroying the robot. The bad ending I believe is shown when setting the bouts to 3 as you just destroy the robot and not the virus in that case.

Two Downloads available. The first being the new good ending recording and the second is the previous longplay with the bad ending.
