Turrican II

Turrican II for the Spectrum 128k

Again the disk version of the game, and this time some use of the 128k. The game is by different developer this time and it shows. This time we loose the parallax scrolling and gain better screen scrolling speed. The colours are abit of a mashup and there is afair bit more colour clash going on. The maps resemble that of the bigger versions, but the gfx are abit hit and miss. The powerups for example are just coloured boxes now.

Again the game is let down by having to work on the older 48k systems. The sounds provided by the 128k are not much better then the beeper equivalents and music only one piece of music in the whole game (On the title screen) is unforgivable. It wasn't long after getting this game I was able to move onto the C64. It was getting far to obvious at this point the spectrum publishers were putting out many half assed ports just for the hell of it not really caring how the ports turned out.
