Spectrum 128K

This is an interesting port because it does not support 48k spectrums so there is nothing holding it back. Although the corridors are all monochrome, the aliens all come in various colours and with their own animations. there are even interlude screens between levels for that extra bit of polish. I feel the developers didn't rush through the port of this game and wanted it to be as good as the humble speccy is capable of.

All that said however, the game is hard. Not just hard but brutal in fact. The aliens can tare you down fast, the gun overheats in seconds and if you miss a hidden pickup you are not likely to make it through. Sure the original arcade game is just as hard, but replicating that difficulty by filling spectrum screen with aliens with a slow moving reticule isn't a good or fun combination.

I do like this game however whatever the platform but it is more enjoyable with an inf credits cheat for sure. I complete with the good ending (just barely) but also show the bad ending afterwards.
