Player's Review

"Gear up for ultimate speed in Super Hang-On! Tour through 48 challenging tracks on four continents. Discover the rush of true arcade gameplay as you blaze through checkpoints in a race to beat the clock and your competitors. Experience the thrill of street bike racing and earn your place at the top of the scoreboards in this must-have classic. In addition to its all-new 3D presentation, 3D Super Hang-On also features Tilt Controls and a Moving Cabinet mode!"

This is the standalone eShop release of the game. It was also included as part of 'Sega 3D Reprint Archives 3: Final Stage (セガ3D復刻アーカイブス3 FINAL STAGE' released exclusively in the Japanese region.

Another great Arcade conversion. The 3DS version adds options for rider difficulty and time lit to make life a little easier although this recording is done at default settings for the main game. Completing all four events unlocks a world tour mode with strings all the courses together into one long run. I tweak the difficulty and time for this one as I'm not taking any chances as its only an extra bonus mode.

Interestingly, the easiest difficulty mode disables the hit boxes for the other riders so you just pass through them like ghosts! That makes the clock your only challenge and that is also adjustable awarding more bonus time at each checkpoint.

Being an Arcade game, it can be pretty brutal with the time limits so I've taken great care not to crash or hit other riders that would cost me precious time. However, i do the odd crash in the final run as I have added extra time which turned out to be more than plenty.

For Each event I change the bezel and for the final, enable moving cabinet mode in order to show all these extra bonus features of the 3ds game. World Tour uses the Moving cab bezel and also the tracks differ slightly. I cant be sure but i feel that the Ride-On tracks were easier with more sections that you can turbo around. Either that or I just played badly in the world tour.
