"SPIES WANTED. Compete against the top racers of the world!"
Nothing much on the box other than screenshots to sell the game. Maybe the big Disney cars logo on the front was enough!
A fairly simple racing game with very few tracks but broken up with some spy missions to pad the game out. The controls are quite twitchy so easy to oversteer but there is not much punishment for crashes. Each car has a special ability that can be a help or hindrance. The jump is perhaps most useful as you can jump barriers and take shortcuts but they are not always easy to navigate and can cost you more time than the normal route.
The longplay first goes through the Story mode, World GP primarily as Lightning McQueen. In between the races the story is narrated and you play side missions which I guess is the story. Completing all these races and missions unlocks a bunch of vehicles that can be used in single race and cup modes. The second half of the longplay goes through each of the cups utilising a different car each time in an effort to show them all. I end with a single race to show the final unlocked car.
At the end of the video I show the rewards screen which is complete apart from Win a round in Multiplayer and the grand master. Grand master requires unlocking themes that adds skins to the cars. Seven are unlocked via Streetpass transmissions and the others are found by winning single races in each country. Its random if you get a race, one v one, elimination and maybe a rainy day but each needs to be won once. The NDS game has spy codes to unlock everything but no such option for the 3DS.
