"Get ready for some finger-searing action as BUB and BOB blast their way onto your computer screen. Use for kinds of elements - Fire, Water, Lightning and Star - to overcome wave upon wave of nasties bent on ending your quest to rid the universe of the evil mastermind Chaostikahn! Whether you play alone or with a friend, stay alert!... Your only hope of reaching the final showdown is to unlock the secret of PARASOL STARS!"

Bubble Bobble III or Rainbow Islands II, the arcade game that never was is an excellent sequel to Rainbow Islands and another excellent conversion on the Amiga. The game kind of plays like bubble bobble and rainbow islands have been mashed together. Levels are single or two screen wide scrolling. You can pickup enemies and throw them at other enemies earning some bonus items in the process. Like the previous two games there are loads of random collectables scattered throughout with some having some effect on the level like destroying all enemies or taking you to a bonus collection screen as well as the usual invincibility, stun and extra lives.

Some levels feature Miracle items and these are fixed and always appear on specific stages. You can collect them as they appear and end the stage the third is collected on and it might award an extra life. Ideally you match three miracle icons which reveal a secret door after defeating the boss for a large bonus reward that may have an effect on the next world. I don't think it possible to collect all four in one run. You must collect three stars on Rainbow world in order to proceed to bubble world else you are awarded the bad ending. Collecting three stars on Bubble world awards the bomb which helps with the boss on Underworld.

The longplays shows playing through all eleven worlds which included a secret Nightmare world accessible through Ocean world. Its quite challenging with large enemies and no miracle items. From the beginning I collect the Speedup shoes and I am with them through out the whole playthrough. This was not a good idea as it makes you so fast, it can be difficult to precision jump when needed and It kind of makes the whole play look strange as I'm constantly darting about and looks sped up. overall though, a very well produced game which looks, sounds and plays great and loading from a single disk with reasonable level load times. At the end of the game, I show the bad ending by not getting three stars and the Key reward.
