THE UNIQUE DEPTH OF REALISM IS FURTHER ENHANCED BY MULTILAYERED PARALLAX SCROLLING NEVER BEFORE SEEN ON HOME COMPUTER SYSTEMS."
The game is quite short with only five missions but don't think its going to be easy. The game starts out as a kind of modern chop lifter having you go out and rescue POW's, fight off enemy forces and get the POW's home but t6hen becomes a destroy everything mission. The game plays out like one long mission split into segments.
The game is difficult with the enemy able to deal significate damage in a short amount of time. Sometimes you can take multiple hits or sometimes the enemy shot are so fast it appears to kill you in a single shot. If there are enemy's in the area while the POW's are out there is a chance they can get shot. There is still a chance to rescue them by fetching the medics but they do take up two seats.
The longplay goes through each mission attempting to rescue all POW's. Not that it makes any difference to the end goal, but it does award a continue if you do so. There's no title menu. After the intro its right into the game. Space will pause the game allowing you to select a special weapon or the function keys can be used without pausing. Because everything in the game is out to kill you and it doesnt take much I try to destroy only needed targets. If you destroy huts filles with soldiers that's just releases the soldiers that have a chance to kill you and any POW's in the area. Completing the game loops back to level five without much of an outro. Once your continues have been used up, its back to level one.
Overall, it's an alright game but because of it's difficulty It limits it can limit it's appeal. It' looks great in screen shots but quite choppy once in motion. Played on an A1200 here to give it a minor boost although the game can be a bit unstable sometimes freezing for no apparent reason. I think we were kind of hoping the game was going to be Choplifter III from the snes.
