Player's Review
"THE SUPERSTARS ARE BACK... NOW FIGHT LIKE YOU MEAN IT!
Once again, the WWF Superstars unite for the grand European Rampage' Tour. Join your favourites, Hulk Hogan", Ultimate Warrior' and many more as they travel across Europe to square off in the ring against tag teams like the Natural Disasters and the Nasty Boys'. Watch them in the squared circle. Follow them to the Grand Finale Match at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Test your strength and skill. Work with your team-mate to achieve the ultimate goal-the European Rampage' Tag Team Title."
The Previous WWF Amiga game from Ocean was developed by Twilight. It had its problems but was a well presented game. This time Arc developments is at the helm and whilst it looks ok, something has been lost and whilst this game has more going on, I think WrestleMania is the better of the two games.
Playing from floppy, the load times are long, nothing is cached in extra ram if available. (loading has been mostly trimmed for the video). This is a Tag team wrestling game allowing two players to co-op the game. In single player you get to tag to utilise the other character. You get a choice of four characters with Hulk Hogan and Ultimate warrior teaming up from the previous game to take the belt here. Notable here is that we get some music samples for each character and tag team. The remaining two characters are shown at the end of the video leading to the game over screen.
The game takes place over three European cities each with three tag teams although you have to fight all three in each city which can make the game feel repetitive. After there defeat we end up in New York for the final fight against legion of Doom to take the belt. There is not much in the way of moves in this game, mostly just punching and kicking your way to victory. It takes some quick double button presses to make the flying kicks n rolls come out but these can cause you to lose just as much energy as your opponent as well as needing a moment to get up. The patch to victory seems to be punching and kicking your opponent to the ground and stamping on them. I don't think I got bouncing off the ropes right. The grapple is still here but now you have to button mash the fire button to victory not that it counts for much.
After completing the game, I go back into show Randy Savage and Bret Hart losing a few rounds until game over is shown.
