"The ultimate fusion of car and driver. Experience the power. The passion. The performance.
Grand Prix Circuit whisks you to the exclusive world of Formula One racing. Slither and slide through the curves of glamorous Monaco. Blast down the straightaways of Germany. Snarl through the tunnels of Japan. You'll compete against a diverse corps of international rivals who seek the same prize- the title of World Driving Champion.
Climb behind the wheel of an authentic Formula One race car. Feel the engine's responsiveness. Sense the awesome acceleration and precise handling. Race on the legendary Grand Prix courses including Monaco, Germany, Brazil, Japan and Detroit. Compete against a variety of world-class drivers, each with his own individual driving characteristics. Drive for the world-renowned teams of McLaren, Ferrari and Williams. Time each pit stop perfectly. Seconds mean the difference between first or fifth place Uninhibited speed. Unchained exhilaration. It can only be found on The Grand Prix Circuit."

After Test Drive It looks like Distinctive Software wanted to try there hand at Formula One. You get a choice of three cars each with slightly different properties and then you can head of to a single race or race all eight in a championship. You can choose the difficulty at the start with rookie having auto gears and no car collisions right up to pro where a collision will end your race right there
and manual gears means if you over rev you will blow the engine ending the race right there. I think tyre grip is also affected where if you take a corner too fast you will spin the car.

The longplay firstly goes through the full gp with the Williams car. This is the slowest of the three but most controllable I find maintain more grip on corners. Following the championship I take the Ferrari and show destroying the engine before completing a single race with it. I then show the McLaren in a single race nipping into the pits for a tyre change before finally showing a car collision.

Overall, the Amiga game is too slow to really enjoy it on a stock A500. The Original C64 game isn't fast either but somehow more manageable. After test Drive 2 they fix up GP Circuit to work with motorbikes and also sort out the speed issues. Lookout for a longplay of The Cycles in the future.
