Player's Review
"By Digital illusions based on their stunningly successful Pinball Dreams' Four totally new tables: PARTYLAND, BILLION DOLLAR GAME SHOW, SPEED DEVILS, STONES 'N BONES. Extra features include: Multi-flippers Dot matrix score panel, More music and sound effects. Larger more detailed tables, Mega bonuses Expandable. DON'T MISS THIS FANTASTIC PINBALL SIMULATION."
Pinball Fantasies is an original Amiga game that got ported to other systems by Spidersoft often changing the game mechanics in the process. The Amiga version was released in three versions, the original for the Amiga 500 class machines, an AGA version for 1200 and 4000 and finally a CD32 CD release. The 1200 version was also part of the Chaos AGA! pack often included when buying an Amiga 1200 from Silica Systems.
The 1200 game has an expanded number of colours compared with the original 500 release and now takes up four disks instead of three. In the process the entire front end of the game was removed leaving the absolute minimal in presentation. You are presented with a simple text menu to launch the wanted table. Fortunately all the great gameplay and music is fully intact and although the ball can move weird sometimes, it's nothing like the Spidersoft games where you feel like gravity is in a constant state of flux.
In the longplay I go through all four tables and aim to show all the features of each table although some objectives prove a little troublesome and take more time to pull off. In contrast to modern pinball games, the ball doesnt often go down the side drains allowing for a little more survivability and fun gameplay.
