What a mess this game is. originaly due for release in 1995, the game was already dated playing more like the original street fighter game and by 1997, only the few remaining Amiga faithful were left buying games and they were usually looking for games that push the boundary making use of expensive accelerator cards. The game was meant to work on any Amiga with one meg of ram but due to issues, bugs with the game it needs a minimum 68020 cpu and 2mb of ram, so an A1200 is used here although the game makes no use of the AGA features. The game does come with a hd installer but it to is buggy and causes problems. A more recent whd install exists but also runs into memory issues so gave up with that and am playing from floppy. Overall, the game play is quite slow although you can tweak some options to get an extra frame or two of performance.
The game follows you as Neil Axe leading three martial arts students on a 3,300 mile cycle ride from New York to Los Angeles to highlight the Gt. Ormond St. Appeal. The game has multiple game modes but the main story mode is the Endurance mode which takes you through nine levels facing off against various fighters to become the champion. You can choose from any of the four players to beat the mode. If you complete the one fight Spiritual mode first you can find a hidden level at the start of endurance. If you complete training mode first you can unlock a Super Mode but I don't know what that is about. I think when you are low on energy and start to flash you can deal a little extra damage but I'm not sure. You have maybe eight moves available to you but will likely find the best two or three and just button mash those out. The game is hardly balanced with the opponents seemingly only needing to land four hits while you have to grind your opponent down.
The longplay shows playing through with each of the four characters. No character specific story or ending, but i guess it shows the moves. each run includes the training and shadow fight. At the end I show the tournament mode which is seemingly broken. If you win the first fight, you lose the game! lose a fight and you continue through each tier and win the game!
There are a few cheats that can be entered when the game is paused. enter again to disable. These are the ones I've found, there are no doubt more.
U, U, D, D - Turbo mode, makes the game super fast for quick rounds.
U, D, L, R - Shadow Mode - Play as a transparent spirit.
L, R, L, R - Unlimited wins, the game doesnt end.
Overall, it can hardly be called a great game but if you are into one on one fighting games, you might find something here The gameplay is slow and the collision detection is highly suspicious but as long as you don't let the opponent get close you should be able to win easily by spamming the best move for the character. It doesnt look bad for a non aga game but they probably should have gone all in and used it as the game wont work out of the box on A500 class machines anyway.
00:00:00 Intro

00:26:17 Play as Gangster (Hard)
00:50:38 Play as Reaper (Easy)
01:08:12 Play as Il Capo (Expert) (Played at Turbo)
01:23:40 Tournament - Game Over
01:25:47 Tournament - Lose to win!
