Player's Review

"As the pilot of an all powerful combat vehicle, you are engaged in the hot pursuit of terrorists. Go into combat and be confronted by enemies as different in their appearance as in their combat techniques. The ability to take to the air will be your strength, use this to outmanoeuvre the enemy. Pick up weapons, ammunitions and fuel. You'll have to work your way through the entire convoy and destroy the leading vehicle, before the ULTIMATE EXPLOSION. QUICK REFLEXES, SPEED, INGENUITY AND NERVES OF STEEL ARE REQUIRED TO OBLITERATE THE OPPRESSOR. With Fire and Forget II, prepare to experience the most extraordinary arcade game ever designed for as home computer."

Not much to say about this arcade style action driving game. On the surface it seems to have all the elements of a good game. Reasonable gfx for a C64, great music, long winding road with deadly enemies to shoot with a few collectables to watch out for. The problem is that there is no variation in the levels. It's all the same with the only notable difference being the music. Fortunately it only lasts for five levels.

The hud is busy with a few elements constantly updating but apart from fuel and kerosene levels which need to be kept filled, I'm not really sure what the rest is about. This is another game which features a high score table as part of its title screen yet you only get to put your name on it if you lose. If you beat the game, its ends on the congrats screen requiring you to reset the computer to end the game. Overall, it's not that difficult as if you find the right spot, you can pretty much just sit there, hold the fire button down while trying to forget that your own life is wasting away while playing the game.
