"CRAZY CARS IS A FAST AND FURIOUS THREE DIMENSIONAL RACING SIMULATION!
YOU'RE IN FLORIDA AND YOU'VE GOT TO GET TO ARIZONA. YOU CAN CHOOSE BETWEEN SOME OF THE WORLDS FASTEST STREET CARS! TIME IS NOT ON YOUR SIDE... THE BETTER YOU BECOME, THE TOUGHER IT GETS. BEWARE OF OTHER CARS... WATCH THE DIPS IN THE ROAD... OR YOU MAY JUST TAKE OFF! WILL YOU GET TO DRIVE THE ULTIMATE... A FERRARI GTO? CHOOSE YOUR CAR...... THE RACE IS ON!"

The C64 may have struggles a little with driving games but by 1988 better games including outrun were coming out. It doesn't look like Titus cared much for the C64 and put out this minimal effort. I can imagine the Cisco Heat developer thinking that Crazy Cars was the game to beat to claim best c64 racing game.

The game is a test of endurance. You get 60 seconds to beat each track. There are only four tracks and after beating each set of four you get a new faster car. After using all four cars the game loops back round again. There is no end other than game over over if you run out of time. I show all four cars and call it a day when it loops found back to the first car.

The tracks are quite basic and could be finished quickly if it was for a crappy gameplay mechanic which throws the car into the sides causing you to almost grind to a holt and even then you can get back into the middle until the road straightens up. There are also bumps in the road and other cars to collide with which will result in the car bouncing around likely getting thrown to the sides causing much grief.

The Hit Squad budget release of the game was played and this adds a piece of music to the loading screen that was not included with the original release. Overall this is a terrible game which seems like it was given a weeks development time and released as is, no matter how it turned out.
