Player's Review

"Super Zaxxon takes what you like most about Zaxxon and adds new challenges. Super Zaxxon gives you 3-dimentional perspective but with even more realistic graphics. 3-dimensional flight but with a perilous tunnel requiring even more precise control. Floating Fortresses but with deadlier weapons and tighter passageways. And a fire-breathing dragon who scorns your attempts to destroy him. HesWare brings the arcade thrill of Super Zaxxon to your home on the Commodore 64."

Much better than segas's offering. Whilst the game does have some collision detection related issues, it not quite as bad as sega's game but that doesn't make it any less frustrating when it happens.

The game is started on level one (easy) and progressively builds up each time you defeat zaxxon and restart the attack. The lasers become particularly deadly as they tend to fire on you when you have no hope of escape. This version has an annoying and thing which tries to get in your way and collide with you on route and cant be killed. When fighting the dragon, it can be difficult to find its weak point. Fuel gets used up much more quickly each time a new round starts.
