Player's Review

"Your country is under attack by a foreign power, and you are tasked with searching the 15 islands surrounding the country and finding and rescuing 10 islanders. You sit at the controls of a rescue helicopter for air and sea emergencies, which is equipped with a number of extras:
PULSE LASER, SEMI-AUTOMATIC RESCUE EQUIPMENT, MAGNESIUM LIGHT BALLS"

Google translation of the instructions originally in German. I don't know if there is an English version. Interestingly the translation lists the game as Helicopter Hunter by SourseSoft.

This is another one of those endless game I play for way to long hoping for something new to happen. The game seems to have two levels where the only difference is the introduction of the annoying ufo in level 2 onwards. The game plays like Choplifter with you flying across the sea to the islands seeing f there is anyone to rescue. It will flash at the top of the screen if there is but i don't pay much attention to it as I'm concentrating on the bottom of the screen watching for enemies so I will try to collect even if no one is there. Enemies will constantly fly in from left or right with homing rockets being the most annoying. You can drop flares to stop these as well as destroying the boats.

Sometimes other folk will be in trouble and you can choose to rescue or not. You can only hold so many people at a time and anymore will cause you to become to heavy to stay in the air. Collecting them, especially the parachutes give additional score but do not count to the total amount you need to collect from the islands. At various points a Heli pad will appear where you can drop off the survivors and go for more. You will also refill with fuel and more ca be collected from barrels in the sea if needed.

It's an alright game for a while but lack of variation between levels soon gets boring. The game is seemingly endless but with each level up to a point, the enemies seem to get quicker and deadlier.
