Player's Review

"Collecting your bombs and defeating your enemy as you go makes this coin op conversion one of the most high scoring and exciting games available."

Not much to say about this one. Of the three 8bit home conversions I think this is the worst of them. The Spectrum game is well remembered but the C64 game doesnt feel right and not as fun to play. The screen feels compressed and the sprites are too big leaving you not much room to move as you navigate the map while trying to avoid the fast moving enemies. Which leads to another classic C64 issue, collision detection. It is anything but fair.

The main game mechanic is based around it's scoring system of collecting bombs in order for the biggest end of level bonus. The trick is to find the right bomb to start the chain as you should be able to reach every bomb in order. Unfortunately I have a difficult time with this as there is always something in the way so i just end up collect them as I try to avoid the enemy. Best bet for getting through levels quick is to wait for the powerup that disables the enemies and wipe em out.

Overall, not a great game and Super Seymour Saves the Planet is a much better alternative. I don't know how many levels there are but it is ultimately endless with the maps looping at some point.
