Player's Review

"Watch Out! Jack's back! Our superhero Bombjack is here again in comic caper of the tactical kind! This time, armed and deadly-ready for combat. Use the stab key to fight your way through the reptile infested lava pit and on into outer-space.
Have you got what it takes? Have you got the mental agility to outwit the enemies and collect the treasure in over 40 fiendishly complicated settings? Collect them in the right order and get a bonus Jack."

After the success of the first game, even on the C64 apparently. A sequel was quickly rushed into production and as far as I know , it was only on the 8bit machines. It doesnt really play like like bomb jack and is pretty much a different game with the bomb jack name thrown on it.

On the C64 at least, it is a better game than Bomb Jack. Chaining the bombs and collecting in order is much easier to achieve although still requires starting on the right bomb err.. treasure. The enemies can be destroyed by pushing them off their platform although they might return in an annoying spot as you leap across the platforms. The enemies also change form getting stronger over time until they reach a point where they are leaping across platforms to get you.

The instructions state more than 40 levels but the game really has only 18 which swap between the two terrains giving 36 levels total before it loops back to the starting level. Overall id say it a better game than the first but only on the C64. other than that it's an ok game but the way the enemies work can make it overly frustrating although the collision detection is much better this time round. Just make sure the enemy is not going to be in your landing spot as you leap!
