Player's Review

[QUIRKY!] RPG by ArtePiazza, Remake of a SNES classic.

Follow Mario as what was suppose to be a normal day saving Peach ends up being a grand adventure to stop some weapons from taking over the world and gathering some stars.

The game has the basic stuffs from the original (platforming, TIMED HITS!, minigames) but with some changes here and there and some QoL. Changes include: swapping party members mid battle, items and specials are used on the map instead of going through a menu, indicators for blocking attacks/timing attacks, BLOCKING MAGICAL ATTACKS! (but you can't block AoE attacks). Newly added to this game is the Action Gauge and Chains. Time your stuff right and you start a chain. Bonuses obtained depends on your current allies and ally buffs increase in strength at 2, 3, and 5. When the Action Gauge reaches 100, you can use a Triple Move to do fun things, like doing a lot of damage or healing. The game is STILL easy like the original and the same troublesome bosses are still a bit troublesome in this version (like Speardovich with his Water Blast shenanigans). At least post game is slightly difficult...until you figure out that status ailments are good there. :3

This longplay tries to do a buncha stuff, but it just boils down to doing alot of sidequests and completing the post-game content. While I'm at it, I go for all Thought Peeks (Psychopath for the old folks.). If I wasn't going for Thought Peeks, the game would've been MUCH shorter (S'up, Belome shenanigans). Of course, I COULD just buy the Thought Peeks, but that'd be more grinding for Frog Coins. Beginning of the game was trying to figure out Thought Peek timing because the timing on some things are pretty different (Geno Whirl especially) and the fast animations throw me off because I'm so used to the SNES timing.
