Player's Review
"Guide your man up the fairground track to rescue the damsel in distress who is waiting for you at the top of the track and is guarded by the might Kong. You must avoid the Roller Coaster cars or you will be knocked off the track and lose a life. You must also avoid other obstacles such as pies and springs. You may stop the cars by bombing them."
Kong Strikes back is Oceans sequel to 1983s release of Kong which had only been released on the Spectrum at the time as Oceans Donkey Kong wasn't released for the C64 until 1986. Kong strikes back is essentially Mr Do's Wild Ride with Donkey Kong gfx thrown in.
The game had 4 levels which I show once as the difficulty doesn't seem to ramp up when it loops so i lose remaining lives in the 2nd.
For 1984, this has some nice vibrant gfx that reminded me, just for a moment of Summer Camp. The title screens look like they have been imported from the Spectrum game but there is some jolly music playing in game. Unfortunately there seems to be a bug with soundfx as the bomb explosion sound gets lost in a volume boost.
