Player's Review

"Yet another brilliant Codemasters simulator. The best skiing game yet. Experience the spills and thrills of the downhill racer. All the excitement, but, you won't need an ambulance when you crash! Same authors as Grand Prix."

So many games in the Simulator series and almost the first thing you think about hearing the name, Codemasters. This one is simulating .. skiing. Seven levels of downhill skiing against the cpu opponent The overhead on the right doesnt really help much. The controls are not great and involves a fair bit of button mashing to get your player moving. Then when you finally make it to a slope, you need to hold button and steer left n right to keep speed up. There are plenty of falls along the way but the most annoying thing is the screen scrolling which you can get ahead of or left behind by. There is a time limit that you have to finish within to continue to the next stage.

Overall, its a bit of a sloppy spectrum port. Sure we get some colour but the flag posts are like an overlayed sprite so it is all to easy to accidently steer under them and get jammed. It's one of those games you load once out of curiosity and never again unless you like the title music. It is a very short game overall even if you can make through seven courses.
