Hello, I'm reidja7 and I've started a longplay of the PC version of Portal. I decided to do it because as far as I can tell it hasn't been done and no one is planning to work on it. It is also an ideal choice for my first longplay as I have the game and fraps and it's a short game overall. :-)

Progress

Recording 100%
This being a Longplay, I included all the secrets I could. All the awesome GLaDOS dialog (minus some parts of the end because of the time limit) are included. I also show what your character looks like and how to get caught in an infinite portal loop.

Editing 100%
I tried to make the edits as painless as possible. I'm still new at this so don't yell at me if you don't like something. :-D

Encode/Upload 100%
Encoding is finished. Uploading now. Then it just needs to be verified. :-D

UPDATE: Ugh, so for some reason my system will hitch/skip during the last level when I try to record it. I'm pretty sure something is causing Fraps to crash and stop recording. I'm gonna try to fiddle with settings, if that doesn't work I'm gonna have to put this one on hiatus until the problem is fixed.


UPDATE 2: Reinstalled Windows and everything works ok. I will now update the percents. Recording, done. Editing, done. Final Encode, in progress. Woot, home stretch. Also you may notice I added the BiA games to my list. I just got these and from what I've played they are terrific. It's a bit too soon to say for sure, but they may quite possibly be my next project!


UPDATE 3: Ok, all the heavy lifting is done. Uploading to the FTP now. Gonna mark this one complete.

GEARS?!?! HELL YES! I cannot wait to see that!

Not to sound ungrateful, because I'm overjoyed to see a longplay of Portal, but... you kind of rushed through the endgame and missed out on a lot of hilarious dialogue both before and after incinerating the purple core.

I admit to that diana. It's one the things I dislike about my run. It came down to having adequate time for the whole thing. The best and worst part about the end is the Glados dialog and she will talk almost non-stop. There ends up being more dialog than can possibly fit within the time limit before the main character will die. I am willing to rerecord if it's a big problem, but I'd have to start from the beginning of the game as I no longer have the files. So yeah, I'm sorry it turned out like it did and I'll try to improve my future recordings.
