Question about recording longplays

Sorry for stupid question but how this video was recorded? - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqKl1yqnmZg
Duration is 10 hour. I think this is not a Fraps.

Also can you help me what program to use to record ~5-hours longplay? The last time I used Fraps, file size was 100GB (720p 60fps) but what if I want to record more than 1 hour?

If you look RE2 longplay page on this site (https://longplays.org/infusions/longplays/longplays.php?cat_id=2&longplay_id=9419), you will notice, that total duration is almost 16 hours. I could be wrong, but I don't think, that Spazbo4 recorded this longplay in one shot.

Besides, there are lot of really loooooongplays on the site. Off course longplayer doesn't play whole game without relaxation.

You can record gameplay partially, then join all parts in VirtualDub, Sony Vegas or MeGUI (using avs script). Loading screens may be used for joining separated parts. The objective is creating video of full (as posible) playthrough as if it was be played in one session, but you shouldn't play the game incessantly.

Why would he not use fraps? You can record infinetly long videos, the only limitation would be your disk space.

I mean, it's really big, file size over 1TB, I think.

Yeah, I know.

Well, I have like 6TB of free space on my PC. And you can of course have much much more. Or if you run out of space, you can encode what you have and continue after that.

Ok, thanks.
Spazbo4
I've got well over 8TB of SSD storage specifically for recording games, so recording over 1TB of footage is no problem

OMG... I think, I will record in 1080p 30fps. Anyone tested this codec (H264 High 4:4:4 lossless) for lossless recording? - https://www.bandicam.com/best-codec-for-recording-software/
Can I use it instead YV12?
Spazbo4
you need to record games in 60fps for longplays unless the game you record is forced in 30fps
S
Well, OK. But can I use another lossless codec? For example, Lagarith or H264 (Lossless profile)? What's your PC specs?
Spazbo4
Lagarith is what we normally use
I have an i7 8700k and rtx 2080
