Player's Review

I purposely set the clock in the year 2002 - the year the Animal Crossing series made its debut overseas - on the first day of May. I also named my character "Murabito" (the Japanese name for "Villager", a Smash Bros. reference) and named my town "Smashvil" (another Smash Bros. reference, ran out of room for the name).

Since the only real goal is to buy Tom Nook's house upgrades and pay for it all, I spend most of my time grinding for cash, doing so by the quickest way possible without use of the GBA: fishing at the beach. Those Barred Knifejaws and Red Snappers really come in handy! It was tedious enough to make a Dragon Quest game cry, but it was worth it, so I apologize if that bores you.

Also, I had to save my game frequently, as it's necessary due to Tom Nook either having to wait the next day just to make your house bigger or sometimes closing his own store to upgrade (making grinding pointless). There's at least one point where I had to spontaneously save because of...life issues.

Off the side, I looked up a guide for passwords to get some extra goodies. I must've misread it, because some of the cheats didn't work. Oh well.

Lastly, I goofed around a little bit on a Saturday evening to not only see the golden statue, but in hopes of seeing K.K. Slider and maybe play the credits. But maybe I must've misread my guide, because I changed my mind and decided to save anyways.
