Player's Review
"Accept the toughest challenge in all of wrestling: the WWF Wrestlemania Steel Cage Challenge'! You control every action-packed move and manoeuvre Clothesline, Elbowdrops, Bodyslams, Dropkicks. When you're ready for the ultimate wrestling challenge, the steel cage is ready for you."
A WWF Game on the Master System. After playing the 8/16Bit home computer versions this one seems a bit minimal although it has more characters to play as well as regular and cage match variants. No joystick waggling in this one but still a bit of a button masher as you punch and kick until it registers a hit on the opponent.
The longplay first goes through a regular championship which takes you through all players until you have finally beaten them all to become champion. No real strategy, just punch and kick until the opponent decides to move. It can be difficult to get the final pin as you have to be standing in just the right position to execute it and its not always easy to get to. The second run through the game is Tag team which has you taking two characters on a journey to become champions by beating the other teams. A final playthrough is a run of the championship in Cage mode where once you have depleted the opponents energy you should race to the bars and climb before the opponent gets up. I think you can still tag win but its quicker to just go for the climb.
Overall, it's not a bad game but I'm sure the master system could have done better. There could be a weird bug with the audio when selecting Irwin R Schyster as his song is just static. I tried a few rom sources but they all had the same issue.
00:00:00 Titles
00:01:01 Character Music
00:04:09 WWF Championship - Regular (Hulk Hogan)
00:22:43 Tag Team Championship (Ric Flair / Papa Shango)
00:40:27 WWF Championship - Cage Match (Bret Hart)
