Player's Review

"Experience high speed thrills as you throw a top performance turbo charged racing vehicle around treacherous stages. Power through turns, slide out of dirt, blast through mud, and grab all the air you need. 15 tracks. 8 cars, Practice, Single Race & Championship modes. Multiplayer options up to 4 players."

Another horrific racing, rally game released at a budget price. Seems to share some traits with Speed Haste with it's setup, presentation and gameplay although a different developer so, I don't know. At the start you are presented with Single course or championship modes. There are five courses made up of three tracks each. The championship mode strings all five courses into one long run. Fail any track and it's back to the menu screen.

The longplay first goes through the championship in SVGA mode. This is tedious as the framerate is half the normal vga mode and very difficult to control your vehicle and is made worse playing on expert mode and the opponents constantly slamming into me and slowing me down. The framerate appears baked in an no amount of cpu power appears to help. The differences between difficulty options is how aggressive the opponents are and how much time you get. The hardest part of the game is making it to the first checkpoint as you start with so little time and in Pro difficulty virtually impossible. Reaching a checkpoint awards plenty of time though so rarely a struggle to reach the end but on the whole very unbalanced.

The Second championship is played in VGA mode on Rookie difficulty just to show it and get it done. On the whole the game is very unrewarding with no acknowledgement of your achievements at the end of the championship with no ending or credit roll. If Speed haste was trying to be Daytona USA then id say this was trying to be Sega Rally. You are much better off going for Need for Speed or Screamer for your 90s arcade racer fix on pc though.

I close the video with a quickplay on Pro difficulty. the times are so tight, it's to much effort for no reward to persevere with and the crashed during track two multiple times anyway so left it here.

As the game switches between two resolutions for game and menu I have included two downloads. The main one with everything 1:1 with black bars and a second with aspect correction stretching to full screen. Choose yuor poison!
