Shantae: Risky's Revenge - Director's Cut
| |
Player's Review
Originally released in 2010 for the Nintendo DSi shop, Risky's Revenge is the second game in the Shantae lineup. After Mimic reveals a genie lamp at the Relic Hunter's Expo, Risky Boots arrives right on cue to steal it for her own nefarious purposes. However, the magic lamp is useless without the three magic seals, which Shantae promptly heads after to prevent Risky from activating the latent powers within. Will Shantae succeed in defeating Risky Boots?
For this longplay, I beat the main game and collect all the jars of jelly. I do zig-zag a little bit more than optimal because of an unhelpful map, and I'm the least familiar with this game out of all the Shantae titles. After the credits, I go back and get the 3 missing jars of jelly, and buy 2 of the 3 remaining upgrades from the shop. I couldn't afford the third one, and didn't feel like grinding for gems, but that's the last item which accounts for the 6 items that were shown missing from the collection count.
For those wondering, Magic Mode doesn't add anything to the core game itself. It's an alternate costume that reduces defense in exchange for more magic. Great for magic consuming sub-weapons, but nothing else worth showing off.
