Hook

Very short point and click adventure. I recorded mainly to compare with the Amiga version and this one pales in comparison. No music during the intro! what were the devs thinking there. More music in game but none of the atmospheric sound effects the Amiga version has. It seems more like a prototype that never reached final and only Amiga/st got a finished version of the game.

The game was quite unstable for me while recording, crashing dosbox often so the inventory may jump around abit as I stitch different videos together. The longplay couple easily be 10 mins or so shorter, but I did take time to go through some of the dialogue trees. Some times the action buttons get stuck on so I endup fighting the curser until I realise.

Just for kicks I tried the Atari ST version and I feel the devs really didn't care about the st at this point. No intro at all, vastly reduced colours and a poor effort for the music. It has a fair few sounds effects at least.

With the game being so short, I recorded it twice in both its sound modes.
