Player's Review

Point & click adventure game developed by Divide By Zero and released in 1996. "The plot shared many common elements with Jules Verne's Around the World in Eighty Days, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and From the Earth to the Moon, as well as many other literary and historical references to Victorian England, such as Sherlock Holmes, Treasure Island, The Time Machine, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Jack the Ripper and many others [Wikipedia].

This game is slightly better than the adventure game, "Guilty" developed the previous year by the same group. This game has better interface, graphics, voice acting and is altogether more polished. Few jokes are even a bit funny at the beginning. But when every parodic remark turns out to be about the nobility of the protagonist and he mocking his lowly manservant, it becomes tedious to listen much too early and makes both protagonists appear very one dimensional. Too bad the opportunity to write proper dialogue between the characters was wasted, could've been much more interesting. In this respect, the game is very similar to Guilty, where the protagonists also loop similar insults over and over again.
