Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone
REPLACEMENT LONGPLAY

Player's Review
This is the final Double Dragon game in the trilogy (not including the SNES version of Super Double Dragon or the Neo Geo version of Double Dragon).
Billy and Jimmy Lee returned home after defeating the Black Warriors to avenge Marion's death. Now they are on a new adventure from the so-called fortune teller. She tells them the legend of the three rosetta stones needed to recover and tells them to go to Egypt to see how the stones can help them.
This game features a shop where the Lee brothers can purchase weapons, power-ups, extra buddies to help you when you die, energy, and extra lives to help with the fortune teller's quest. The power-ups make Billy and Jimmy twice their size and give them more damage to the enemies and a longer range of attacks. In Double Dragon 3, the game's graphics departs from the cartoon-like style and move towards the more realistic-looking characters. In my opinion, this game was not too bad but not as good as the first two Double Dragon games. The ability to throw objects like knives and pick up heavy objects and throw and dump them on your enemies has been removed. This time the game costs you real money to purchase items from the shop making this game a coin sucker. The graphics are good but I didn't like the story as much as the first two games. The NES version of DD3 was better. This game is a little harder than the first two games. Even when the difficulty is set to easy and the maximum amount of energy each character can carry, the enemies especially the ninja boss can still be hard and tricky to beat. The best weapon in this game in my opinion is the Nunchucks. The sword was alright but not as good. However, the sword was a much better weapon against the Knight bosses or the samurai. The sword was used almost the entire playthrough which made the game look more like hack 'n slash than a traditional beat 'em up.
Not totally a bad game but not that great. The game is still fun and enjoyable to play.
