"Three Hot Strike C.O.R.E games on one Sega CD!"

The Super Strike Trilogy is a compilation of all three strike games from the Genesis which was announced at E3 in 1995 and due to be released that year. It is almost a one-to-one transfer with loading screens between different sections of the game. The trilogy also replaces all the FM music of the Genesis game with CD Audio although some tracks don't seem to play where you would except them to, cutscenes and the like.

The game opens up with a quick intro showing the three games (Desert Strike, Jungle Strike and Urban Strike) and proceeds to a menu allowing you to select which game to play. After selecting the game, you are then locked into that game until you reset the console or complete the game.

Being a prototype it's not without issues within each game. As mentioned, some audio tracks don't seem to play when expected and there maybe are fewer sound effects than usual. The level names are going by their map name instead of mission names. While the issues are mainly with Desert Strike the compilation is stable overall with no crashes encountered while playing.

Some issues noticed with Desert Strike:-
Fire misaligned in the Intro.
The water and boat you launch from doesn't animate or move at all.
Mission two onwards, the winch won't always lower stopping you from picking up fuel, armour and ammo. I often need to find something to destroy before it works again.
Picking up the enemy ambassador was made more difficult as this area was acting as a danger zone for no reason.
The Bus starts off invisible and the gate is not there to destroy. You do need to come back and destroy it later before the mission will complete.
The Bomber doesn't take off unless you leave the screen and allow the madman's apc to arrive (even though he is on the plane). And finally, there is no credit roll at the end.

Some issues noticed with Jungle Strike:-
The score tally doesn't list everything you've done.
No shooting sound from the Hovercrafts gun.

Some issues noticed with Urban Strike:-
The score doesn't seem to show everything,
The helicopter sound drops out occasionally.
When on foot, a glitch can occur when mission objectives can't be completed due to missing targets. Some pickups don't appear until revisiting the screen.

There is bound to be more stuff to nit-pick at, but these are just things that stood out.

Overall, I think this would have been a great release for the SegaCD having all three games on one cd likely for the same price as a single game. I think it may have been a missed opportunity not adding some of the Amiga enhancements to desert strike now that file space is not a concern. I almost expected a variant of the Amiga music to play, and the included cd music doesn't always seem a good match for what is going on in the scene. Last of all the ending to all three games uses the cd menu music which is a shame considering the credit roll can be quite long and the short intro tune doesn't loop.

There are three downloads linked for this game. Each one being one of the three games.
