Solar Eclipse, developed and published by Crystal Dynamics in the US in 1995. The Playstation version was released as Titan Wars in 1996 only in EU territories.

Player's Review
"Ride the Death Pony! Over 40 minutes of full motion video starring Claudia Christian. Power through multiple paths in twisting caverns. On screen video com units feed you game tips and plot points. Ass kicking bosses. Dominate 30 levels across nine worlds. Your wingman will watch your six and feed you tactical data."
The FMV Space War game, how I miss these. I found this a bit more difficult to play than the PS1 version as it feels slightly slower and the controls can seem over sensitive at times making aiming challenging. I forgot to show Cockpit view but I find chase view more a more manageable way to play anyway. In order to hit enemies you often have to fly into there line of fire which can tare down shields quickly and often without noticing. If they drop than power is taken from your weapons which can leave you vulnerable and you need to start flying past everything while focusing on enemies that drop weapons and shield boosts. It;s a good idea to be fully loaded by the time you reach the end of level boss. Maybe that's a better way to play. Shoot and collect enough to be fully loaded and then to fly to avoid everything until you reach the end.

After the credits, the game gives a code to play a level featuring the game developers. After I have shown this I use cheat codes to show the other bonus levels. I have no idea if they can be unlocked in normal play, maybe taking a specific route or beating the bosses in a specific time limit. These bonus levels allow you do collect a lot of lives to take with you into the game and they do end rather abruptly.
I list the cheats to access them and they all start by Pausing the game and entering Right, Down, Down, Left.
